Fractional CTO / Hands-on Build

Embed to architect and ship — from MVP to launch to self-hosted operations.

Overview

Sometimes you need someone to actually build it. We embed with your team to architect and ship real product — Node/Postgres, Expo/React Native, WebRTC, Stripe, self-hosted infrastructure — taking things from MVP through launch and into reliable operations.

Our Approach

Architect & build

Design the system and write the code to ship it, end to end.

MVP to launch

Get from prototype to a real, launched product on iOS and web.

Self-hosted operations

Stand up monitoring, failover, and the ops to keep it running.

Key Benefits

Our Methodology

Architect

Design the system end to end, with the reliability, cost, and safety bar agreed up front rather than discovered later.

Build

Write the code. Node/Postgres, Expo/React Native, WebRTC, Stripe, self-hosted infrastructure — whatever the product actually needs.

Launch

Get from prototype to a real, launched product on iOS and web, including the parts nobody enjoys.

Operate and hand over

Monitoring, failover, and the operational knowledge to run it — so the studio leaving is a planned event, not a cliff.

Key Deliverables

Success Stories

RankRise — private ratings and mutual matching, in production

A double-opt-in matching app where a rating is visible only to the person who gave it, and chat and calling unlock for both people only once two members rate each other highly. Privacy is a constraint on the schema and every endpoint rather than a setting, and safety controls sit on every profile and chat.

TrueTalk — MVP through App Store launch

Built end to end on Expo/React Native over Node and PostgreSQL, from first architecture through the work of getting an app actually ready to ship.

Where This Applies

Common questions

What does "fractional" mean in practice?

Senior engineering leadership on the parts of the problem that need it, without a full-time hire. In practice that means architecting the system, writing the code for the hard parts, and standing up the operational side — rather than attending meetings at a reduced rate.

Do you work with our existing engineers, or replace them?

Work with them. The engagement is built around a hand-over from the start: monitoring, failover and the operational knowledge to run what was built, so the studio leaving is a planned event rather than a cliff.

What kind of systems do you actually build?

Node and PostgreSQL on the backend, Expo and React Native for mobile, WebRTC and LiveKit for real-time, Stripe for payments, and self-hosted infrastructure to run it. Recent work includes a social platform with real-time chat, WebRTC video and payments, and an AI product advisor taken through to App Store launch.

Can you take something from prototype to launch?

That is the common case: MVP through launch on iOS and web, and into reliable operations afterwards — including the parts nobody enjoys, which are usually the ones that decide whether a launch holds.
